1) How has the scientific method helped us in our fight against disease 
how has science improved our health?

Today's babies are born in hospitals .they do not get disease .  We eat fresh food and drink pure water . we live a clean life . all these things help us in our fight against disease.

2) write a note on the  better sanitary condition available in our cities today and compare them with what they were like a hundred years ago.

Today our City Streets are clean and Paved. dirty water flows in sealed pipes While 100 years ago the streets were unpaved and dirty the garbage thrown into the streets.

3) what are the sanitary conditions like in our villages today and how would you improve them?

The sanitary conditions in our villages are not good . dirty water flows in open drains . The streets are narrow and unpaved . we should set up the department of Sanitation in every village to Better the sanitation.

4) How has a scientific method helped us in the production and preservation of food.?
How do people preserve food now days,?

Science has helped us in the production and preservation of food . now machines are used in ploughing , sowing and harvesting to preserve food . we use a method of freezing ,  dehydration , pickling , grading  ,drying and canning

5) we are now generally less fearful than our ancestors . what were our ancestors afraid of,?

Our forefather were afraid of black Cats, broken mirror and number 13 .now we know that there is a reason behind every happening therefore, we are less fearful than our forefathers.


6) How has the scientific method enabled us to get over the fears?
How scientific method changed man behaviour?
what changes has science about superstition? discuss how science made man open minded?

The scientific method has changed our thinking we know that there is a reason behind every happening therefore, we are not afraid of old fears.


7) what part did astrology play in the lives of men and women in the past give examples.

Astrology is the knowledge of stars . in the past it was believed that star and their movement influenced the lives of people.
People used to  plan important things of their life according to the position of the star.


8) Describe some of the superstitions still current in our country . how do they affect the lives of those who believe in them?


some people do not start their journey on certain days . some people cut off their journey is that cross their way
 it is believed that a guest will come if Crow crows on the wall of a house

1) According to the author , there are some boys who fail because they do not try who are they? can we help them ?

Ans. The boys who do not try to pass the examination are those who suffer from some nervous habits . we can help them by telling them   to get rid of their nervous habits.

2) how does mistaken ambition on the part of the boys and their parents lead to the failure of the boys ?
what is meant by mistaken ambition?

Mistaken ambition lead to failure. the student want to study one thing while his parents ask him to study another thing so he cannot study hard and fail


3) There are some boys who have done well at school but fail to make their marks at college. who are they do you have such boys in college in your country ?

How do some Bright School boys fail at college ?

some Bright boys think that they will pass the college exam like school .they do not work hard and fail in the end. they are the most pitiable boys in college . such boys are found everywhere including our country.

4) How does financial pressure lead to the failure of the students as described in the lesson ? do you have similar cases in your country?
Some students do part time job to meet their calling needs. they have less time to study. so they fail in the end . such cases are common in our country

5) To what extent does the question of health lead to failure at college ? 
How far can the college authorities with their medical officer help student in such cases?

Bad health is the main cause of failure of the college boys . a sick boy cannot work hard so, he fails in the end . the college Doctor can tell them their problems.He can treat them

6) what place would you accrod to sportd man at colleges ?
what is the importance of sports at college?

The main purpose of college is give education but it does not ignore games if a student is too much interested in games he should be asked to be become a professional player.Or
Sports and games are very important for us but we should play and study according to time table.


7) There are some students who join college for fun of it.  should they be allowed to stay.?

There are some students who join colleges for the fun of it . they have no aim in life they should not be allowed to stay because they spoil the others.
